Well, we all know that an engagement is not just the special moment the ring is presented. It is a very significant and special phase of your relationship. It kicks off the moment when one person in the relationship decides to make the call to move things to a whole new level until the moment that you are married.
At this stage of the game, hopefully, most people have already felt out the waters and are reasonably sure that this is the person that they want to spend the rest of their lives with. A few well-placed comments and clandestine questioning of friends (ok, maybe a few more than just a few questions), will have given favourable odds that the all-important “Yes” will be forthcoming.
It might be a good idea to find a co-conspirator or two for moral support and to bounce ideas off of to make the next few steps a success.

If you are a traditionalist, hopefully you’ve been good to your partner’s parents. This, as we know, is not always the easiest, but this really helps when you ask for their child’s hand in marriage. You need to orchestrate this meeting with care. Make them feel at ease, take their advice as if it is the first time you have heard it and take the win if you get their blessing.

Once this bridge has been crossed it is time to choose the engagement ring. You’re going to have to rely on your band of merry men and women once again to make sure it is something that is going to suit your partner. Make sure that the ring will fit. It can dampen the moment when you propose if it doesn’t slide on easily.

You have now gotten to the most important step of all. Unfortunately, this one is all on you. Time to pick out how, when and where you’re going to propose. There are so many ways to do this but because it is such a defining moment, it is important that you make it unique and special. Something that is very personal to both of you is the best way to go. This moment will be etched in your relationship. It is so momentous that it’s going to be scrutinized and shared time and time again throughout your lives.

From here on out it’s fun, fun and more fun. Time to tell your friends and family. Endless parties and any number of excuses for dates, but there is still one more exciting step to work on – Planning your Wedding!!!
