Storm Mountain Lodge was constructed in 1922 as one of eight Bungalow Camps built by Canadian Pacific Railway to promote tourism in the Rocky Mountains.
Today, those same bungalows are still in use and the resort has grown to include both historic log cabins and charming pine cabins.
Curl up together in front of your wood-burning fireplace. Follow that up with a relaxing bath in the antique soaker tub before you turn in for the night in the cozy queen log bed with down duvet.
We serve wonderful meals in our lodge dining room and lounge. The all-Canadian menu reflects a dedication to organic ingredients and naturally-raised Alberta meat and wild fish. In addition, all of our breads, desserts and breakfast pastries are baked daily on-site. Hiker’s lunches and take-out-in-cabin dining is also available.
You will not find WiFi, telephones, TVs or other modern amenities as our generator’s capacity has limits. Instead, what you will find are stunning mountain trails and the grandeur of the panoramic vistas.
Winter activities include snowshoe rentals, horse-drawn sleigh rides, dog sledding and canyon ice walks. For the ski enthusiasts, there are three major ski hills approximately 25 minutes away and cross-country skiing is available nearby.
Look into our special packages which include dinner and breakfast for two, or wine and a charcuterie platter.
Storm Mountain Lodge is open year-round and is dog-friendly.
