La Catrina Churros began in Ottawa in 2013. The owners noticed a gap in the Mexican dessert market so decided to purchase a Churro cart. The next step was getting a permit to participate in the city’s Food Vendor Program.
Fast forward to 2017 when the Café in Byward Market was born, specializing in what they do best – churros. The menu includes traditional churros rolled in cinnamon and sugar as well as their Churro Bowl, topped with delicious, locally made ice cream.
La Catrina Churros also offers meat-filled tortas, cakes and ice cream.
