If you are like me and my love we like a good dose of adventure and activity mixed in with our Netflix binging. So blow off the Cheetoh dust and check out one of these awesome Adventures and Extremes excursions!

Throw on your best plaid shirt and channel your inner Paul Bunyan!
Don’t get me wrong, it takes a little practice but you’ll get a quick lesson and some practice lobs before you go top to top with your one and only.
You’ll toss away a couple of hours at one of the many venues offering walk-up or pre-bookings.
We tried BATL which has a few locations in Ontario and one in Calgary. It had a good assortment of local beers on offer as well as a few ciders and coolers.
The space is unique in that it’s fairly minimalistic in set-up but fitting the bill of both adventure and extreme with a fun and lively vibe.
This might be a better option for a double date, but an Escape Room for two has its benefits. First of all, you won’t have a bunch of friends influencing your breakout tactics so you’ll have more time to work as a dynamic duo to gain your freedom. What better way to connect than putting your heads together to outwit the game! Whether it’s a search for hidden objects, movie-themed or a thriller escape puzzle, there is something out there for everyone.

A scavenger hunt can be a lot of fun for an afternoon or evening. Get out and explore your city together! If you’re on a romantic getaway, it’s a fun and healthy way to discover some place new! Charge up your fitness tracker and check out the hunts in these Canadian cities. You can walk and discover works of art as well as learn about local history together.

So you’ve seen Free Solo and now you want to show off your skills scrambling up the “North Face“. Might I suggest taking your love to your local indoor climbing gym. Not only is it a great workout, it builds communication, trust and cooperation. If climbing’s not your thing, why not bounce off the ounces at the trampoline park! Channel your inner 6-year-old and check out the wall-to-wall trampolines in one of these amazing spots. I dare you not to have a blast! The Factory in London, Ontario is really impressive and features both jumping and climbing at its indoor adventure park. It’s part of a larger venue that includes an onsite brewery, Virtual Reality, an Escape Room along with pizza and burgers – all in the former Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Factory!

Get your game gear on and cheer on your favourite team at their next home game. Whether it’s Basketball, Soccer, Baseball or Hockey, there are some great Pro, Semi-Pro and local teams to support together. Summer is a great time to see a game and get outdoors with your guy or girl. A jumbo hot dog always tastes better while watching a night game under the lights and a blanket of stars.

What could be more romantic and adventurous than a hot air balloon ride? Most balloon rides are scheduled for early morning or early evening. So whether a sunrise or sunset basket ride is your preference, the views are beautiful especially at summer’s peak or at the height of the fall colours. Ideal weather conditions for a hot air balloon ride are light winds, no rain and good visibility. Take along a bottle of “champers” and a basket of strawberries for the ride.
Where to go: Calgary | Edmonton | Grande Prairie | Kitchener | London | Ottawa | Regina | Saskatoon | Winnipeg

The outdoor movie night is popping up in city parks and waterfronts across the country as a fun summer activity. Bring your popcorn, throw your blanket down and enjoy the free flick. If you want to personalize the experience and choose your own movie, you can always fasten a sheet to your backyard fence or “MacGyver” a screen together. Then, order up one of these great portable projectors. We went all out and bought an outdoor movie screen we found on Kijiji but it’s really not necessary. Pick a Hollywood Classic, Action-Adventure or your favorite RomCom and throw together some gourmet snacks and a selection of adult beverages. BAM! You’re all set for the perfect romantic evening. Don’t forget the bug spray!
