Valentine’s Day has a long history dating back to the year 496! It became a holiday associated with love and romance in the 1300s. The very first hand-written Valentine’s cards were eventually created in the 15th century.
Fast forward to today and February 14th is one of the most popular days for couples to demonstrate their romantic love and devotion to each other.
According to Statistics Canada, Canadians spend roughly 37 million dollars every year on Valentine’s with an average dating couple spending $148.
Traditionally, couples will often enjoy a romantic dinner out and exchange gifts such as chocolate and flowers. The gift people spend the most money on, however, is jewellery.
Whichever way you choose to profess your love, keep these awesome Valentine’s Day Date and Gift ideas in mind.
